Lengthen your neck with these exquisite hand carved paper stone look earrings – they drop dramatically from an 7cm long sterling silver chain
Lovely & lightweight, the earrings will swing as you move, showing off their individual colourings. These are unique, handmade earrings – this miss-match pair of paper pebbles show shades of greys, blues, greens & reds, with a red stripe around the side and feature hot poker work rings.
And these would make any wife or girlfriend happy as a special gift on a first wedding anniversary! Paper is the theme of this anniversary – and I’ve actually recycled old newspapers to create this beautiful jewellery. So it’s an eco-friendly gift as well as a romantic one!
Materials: newspaper, silver
The full drop (chain plus pebble) is approx. 8.5cm
I start by glueing sheets of a few sheets of newspaper together, continuing until I have a hard block of paper at the thickness I need. Once the block is bone dry, I work into it with my crafting knives and sanders. This shapes the piece and also reveals the individual colourful inks printed on the paper, which further make each piece of jewellery unique. Next I varnish each piece to both strengthen the paper and highlight the colours. Finally I drill through the pebbles & insert an eye pin which allow them to hang from a fine silver chain, hoop and earring posts,
Is it a gift? Your jewellery will be delivered beautifully wrapped in tissue and placed in a handmade fabric pouch.
