I started by shaping the silver, using hammers to forge it into a cup shape with undulating edges and folded arm and to texturise the surface front and back. Held inside is a dense cluster of tiny glass seed beads in pale pink and clear crystal which cushion two cultivated pearls nestled in amongst the bed of beads. A strip of pale golden yellow beads curves over the top edge and is echoed on the reverse with another small pearl held in a strip of pale gold beads. I achieved this by needle felting sheep’s wool into the cup before hand sewing the seed beads and pearls onto it individually using a needle and thread.
This is a striking yet delicate one of a kind necklace inspired by nature. It can be worn night or day and will always get you noticed.

Nature’s Way is a collection of jewellery designs that are inspired by my love of nature. I represent the colours, textures and forms of nature that I see in the woodlands and at the seaside to create individual designs that can never be reproduced.
I am mixing materials and techniques that I have used over the years, creating a style of jewellery that is unique to me. Each piece starts as a basic idea in my head fueled by what I have seen, which then evolves during it’s creation, it is a very organic process. I use the beads like a paint pallet, building up the final picture as I sew the individual seed beads on.
